Servos and manifolds - 2007/04/30 11:35 Running servos brakes on a beautiful bay pickup - stock 1600 engine. The engine is making nasty noises - "I" think (that means someone told me it might be!) that 3rd piston is not moving.

So, in interests of getting the van fixed before next Sunday!! - is it an easy-ish job to change the pistons over and to check whether that is what is wrong?

Second - as I've got servos running, there's an extra pipe coming from the manifold to the servo. If I wanted to stick on a spare 1600 engine (stealing it from the bay camper) - would I have to change over then manifolds and if so, how easy is it and do I need to get a load of new gaskets and rubbers?

Cheers

Re:Servos and manifolds - 2007/05/01 10:42 ok then ... yeah could well be number 3 .... fitting new pistons is an easy job but remember you will need new pushrod tubs and seals.
you can swap the engines but will have to use the manifold off the pickup, you may be lucky and get away with the origional manifold gaskets, this is the quicker and normally easyer option.
